We had a great time in Chicago at the Pitchfork Festival and the Book Fort. There is a cool write-up of the doings at The Examiner, featuring a nifty slide show. To the left: a pic of me and Craig and our depleted supply of books.
Thanks to Poetry and Featherproof for putting together a great event. I just told Zach Dodson (who with Mairead Case, took the reins on the Book Fort), that it was an opportunity to connect with an audience of readers who I don’t usually get to meet at things like AWP and other book fairs. It was a great success that way.
It was also cool to get to sneak away during spots of rain and see Wild Flag, Godspeed!, and a cool alt-country-ish band called, I think, The Men. What was most impressive about the fest overall is how many good food options there were, and how clean everything stayed, and how respectful people were, and how I only saw like 4 cops the entire time.
Now we are gearing up for the Brooklyn Book Festival, and after that, a big event here in Baltimore, coming up in October.
Past and future PG-related events can be found at our Events page, which I guess I better get to updating.
