I’ve been away for a while, traveling, and it’s been great, but I feel remiss for not posting more on this blog. And now that I am, I’m only doing so to promote the Baltimore release party for Falcons on the Floor. (That link opens in a new window, and should take you to a site where you can do some pre-launch excitement, like basically order the book for only $10. I’m just making stuff up as I go along.)

The release party should be awesome. It’s hosted by Baltimore’s best reading series, WORMS. Alphonso Lingis, the great philosopher, will read (maybe in costume? maybe in darkness, accompanied by screams?), and Ed Steck (whose new book is coming out from my favoritist presse, Ugly Duckling) — and of course Justin will be on hand to sign books and talk about wtf was up with the siege on Fallujah. Justin and I are planning to handle this as a Q&A scenario built into the reading, wherein after I introduce him (and the background for the book), we’ll talk about stuff and he’ll incorporate sections of the novel into the reading.

Maybe that’s too much information? Maybe all you need to know is that it will be awesome. Well, it will be. I mean, there are posters, and the City Paper picked it as the thing to do. So come out next Tuesday, the 27th, to the Metro Gallery at 8pm. It’s free and wow.
