Recently Stephen Dixon’s novella, Beatrice, which Publishing Genius released a couple years ago, was translated in Sweden by Norpus förlag, a publisher who has also done translations of the likes of David Markson and John Barth.
The Swedish edition is a handsome hardcover volume. I like the glassware they use as the jacket image. When I made the cover I tried to connect a simple image like that, but I went with a coffee mug, then eventually cut that because the image I used had coffee in the mug, and I thought even a bit of coffee put too much onto the story (when the characters in the book had coffee, was their cream? How much?). The wine glasses in Norpus’s edition are perfect, I think. They relate to an early scene, but don’t represent it.
